Wildcard Open'25

All good things come to end, and the Wildcard Open is no exception. Another year in the books and we are pretty confident this has been the best yet. Here is a little run-down of how it all went and more importantly, THE RESULTS!
Week 1:
This year we had the most sign ups we have ever had with a total number around 140 names. The atmosphere was alive with anticipation of the first workout and although it was a close replication of last years, the energy of this Friday night lights was reps ahead of the previous.
The custom Wildcard Open T-shirts in each teams colours flooded the building and set the tone for the rest of the competition.

Week 2:
A repeat workout provided athletes with a chance to look back and beat their previous score. Like precision missiles our members destroyed the times to beat, showed off some new skills and all the hard earned strength gains they have made!
The scoreboard flooded in red from RX attempts, it was a very proud team of coaches watching this workout.

Week 3:
The final week to gain points and earn the winners banner!

Red Team,
‘The best looking 3rd place you’ve ever seen’
Toby’s domination of the 1st place podium, a great team spirit encouraged by captain Connor Gurney and winning bonus points for fancy dress two weeks in a row were sadly not enough to pull the red team out of last place.
Final score: 254pts

White team,
The fierce leaderships of Nicola Nixon, the podium efforts each week of Sian Javadi and the rewards of the captains challenges through week 1 & 2 set white team on the path to glory.
The white team's Sha also adding valuable points to the tally with being this years, ‘Rookie of the year’ completing all three workouts with a smile in her first open! Well done Sha!
*Black team enters the chat
Final score: 265pts

Black team,
Trailing by 6pts heading into week 3, Captain Adam Thompson must have have had his Weetabix before turning up to Friday night lights.
Winning the captains challenge, finding himself on the podium and leading his team through consistent efforts across the competition to stay close to White team waiting for their chance to strike is what finally brought Black team to victory.
You could say they, ‘paced’ the Open perfectly saving all their power for the final week, taking a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on the podiums, winning the challenge and being awarded the ‘Spirit of the Open’ due to the outstanding presence of Sharky across all three weeks.
Black team are the Wildcard Open 2025 winners!
Final score: 283pts

Huge Thank you to all the Wildcard Coaches, the team captains and everyone who made it the best atmosphere yet.
