Port had always been around in my life, quietly ticking away in the background. I played rugby for almost 9 years, I had lifted weights with my brother from the age of 16 and was fascinated with strength and the discipline involved with training.

A little bit lost in life, I was encouraged by a friend in the gym where I trained to get into coaching, a few years later into my coaching career the pandemic hit. I had to move back home to Coventry, on the verge of having to get a 'real job' to try and salvage my life. Priz offered me a role at Wildcard.

It was as if the stars aligned, I took the opportunity with both hands. I worked any hours I could get, tried to develop as a coach/athlete to serve the community as best I could, when the second lockdown hit us I moved sessions to a park to continue growing and building my client base and help Wildcard stay alive.

5 years later, I work with a fantastic team of coaches, I serve a fantastic community, train like an athlete and love my job.

I was doing the 2021 CrossFit Open in my brothers garage, I didn't get particularly great scores and I remember thinking, 'Is this really all I can give?'. I felt a little bit of an imposter coaching when I wasn't performing that well. I was in a bit of a rut with training and that really became a turning point to where I took things more seriously and trained with intention.

There is no greater feeling than serving someone and being apart of their progress.
